Alkaline water is water as nature intended; undamaged, clean and full of energy. Unlike tap water, alkaline water is properly structured, free of pollutants, and packed with powerful antioxidant compounds. It has a negative charge and, if it’s made correctly, an abundance of alkalising minerals. Drinking alkaline water instead of the lifeless, inert water that most of us drink will help you to bring your body back into balance, and allow you to neutralise any of the harmful acidic compounds dissolved in your tissues.
The Problem with Most Drinking Water
Drinking alkaline water supplies your body with everything that it needs to counter dangerous oxygen free radicals in your blood, and ensure that you can properly hydrate your cells.
Unfortunately healthy, alkaline water is becoming increasingly hard to find. The water that comes out of your tap has been bombarded with chemicals and stripped of nutrients during transit, and the ‘mineral-rich,’ bottled waters that you see on supermarket shelves are full of harmful pollutants leached from the plastic that they’re stored in.
Worse still, the water from most household water filters is actually acidic, and pre-bottled alkaline water is almost completely devoid of natural energy. If you want to nourish your cells and hydrate your body, your only real option is to make alkaline water for yourself.
Luckily, there are many ways doing just this, and most of them are very affordable. You can create alkaline water in your own home by:
- Adding concentrated mineral drops to your water
- Adding a special activated-carbon filter to your tap
- Using specially-formulated bioceramic beads to energise and alkalise your morning drink.
The only question is, which method is best for you?
What’s the Right way to Create Alkaline Water?
Picking the right way to begin creating alkaline water can often be a tough challenge. The sheer volume of options can often be quite overwhelming.
Here, I intend to examine the various methods used to create alkaline water in some detail, and explore the pros and cons of each so that you can make an informed decision about the best way to nourish your body with alkaline water.
If you’re serious about improving your health, you should know that the main tools used to create alkaline water are:
pH Drops
pH Drops create alkaline water by adding a blend of plant-based, antioxidant minerals to your water. These minerals take just moments to get to work, and can quickly transform a glass of lifeless, inert water into a vibrant, healthful drink that will nourish your body and encourage the proper oxygenation of your cells.
They won't filter or energise your water in quite the same way as the Biocera jug (more on that below) but these potent alkalising drops are a good option for anyone that wants convenient, cost-effective access to alkaline water.
pH Drops are also a fantastic option for anyone who travels a lot.
Alkaline Jug Filters
Alkaline Jug Filters employ a range of mesh filters, bioceramic mineral balls and activated carbon beads to purify, enrich and ionise water.
Many of the better models also use anti-bacterial balls, and a fine polypropylene mesh to disinfect your water and filter out any chlorine or fluoride particles.
Alkaline filter jugs are very practical, making up to 1.8 litres of alkaline water in a matter of minutes; they fit snugly in the door of your fridge.
The Jug is a highly cost-effective solution and, as a result, very popular. If you’re not looking to purchase an expensive under-sink filter, but want to enjoy healthy, vibrant water with a negative charge on a regular basis, then an alkaline jug filter would probably be perfect for you.
We introduced the Biocera Jug to the European market in 2009, and it remains one of our very best sellers.
Electronic Ionising Machines
These machines use electrically-charged metal plates to draw positively charged, acidic minerals towards an anode, and separate water into alkaline and acid streams.
Electronic ionising machines are a relatively popular way of creating alkaline water, but they don’t enrich your water with important antioxidant minerals, or restructure it into easily absorbable clusters.
The water created by electronic ionisers is also still and lifeless – devoid of any natural energy. If you’re trying to nourish your body with healthy, vibrant water, we would advise that you stick with mineral-based systems instead.
Undersink Filters
Most under-sink filters use a multi-stage filtration process to create alkaline water. Normally, they first pass water through an active carbon filter, which removes impurities, neutralises harmful compounds and filters out any chlorine in your water. They then use a bioceramic mineral filter to energise and enrich your water, and give it a negative charge. This multi-stage filtration process makes under-sink filters the most thorough method of creating alkaline water, and it allows them to remove potentially carcinogenic contaminants from your water, as well as alkalising it.
Some people think that the cost of an under sink filter is prohibitive, but we believe that the pros far outweigh the cons. For anyone looking to nourish their cells with the purest, most enriching water possible, this product is a strong choice.
